The Light Inside: A Newsletter from the Women & Justice Project
The Light Inside is WJP’s newsletter for women and gender expansive people in prisons and jails. Through this newsletter, we aim to highlight work, art, and expertise from women and gender expansive people who are currently and formerly incarcerated, share useful information and resources, and offer opportunities for engagement in an interactive format. The title is inspired by this powerful quote from WJP Senior Advisor and Strategic Consultant, Miyhosi Benton:
The relationships and bonds women create with each other, and the love we have and nurture despite it all, create light. We were the light inside of prison, and women continue to be that light inside.
